Montana Duck Hunt, December 1-4, 2023
Dec 1-4 WHO sponsored a Duck hunt in the Flathead Valley of Montana just south of the town of Kalispell along the Flathead River. This is the first year WHO has had the opportunity for this particular hunt. Richard Fisher (Cheyenne, Wy Navy Vet) and Scott Huyvaert (Colorado Springs, CO Army Vet) had the distinct opportunity to be on this inaugural hunt. A special thanks to James Chinn for providing lodging for the hunt and to John and Trish Panique for inviting the hunters into their home for dinner and fellowship.
Although the ducks were playing hard to hunt the Scott and Rick duo were able to harvest 4 gadwall and 1 mallard drake on the 2 day hunt. Both vets were excited to get the opportunity to hunt waterfowl in a state they had never hunted before. 
Muzzleloader/Archery Whitetail hunt, Huntingdon TN, Nov. 10-12, 2023
Montana Mule Deer hunt Oct 27 - 30, 2023
WHO recently finished our third annual Montana deer hunt. The hunt was hosted by John and Betty Williams on their family ranch. During the four day hunt Oct 27-30, two vets and a retired police officer took one nice mule deer buck and two nice whitetail bucks. Cold weather and snow made for a challenging hunt. Many thanks to John and Betty for their continued support and  hospitality. Thank you.
Pheasant Hunt, Presho, SD, Oct. 22-25, 2023
On oct 23 24 and 25 we were donated a WHO hunt for Pheasant in Presho SD. We hunted with the Snake Den Lodge and took Shane Jensen on his first WHO adventure. It was. Great hunt with wonderful guide service and first class accommodations.
Whitetail Deer Hunt, Sheridan, WY, Oct. 15-23/2023
WHO just completed the sixth annual deer/ turkey hunt in Sheridan Wyoming. The hunt was hosted by Jim, Rochelle and Zach Koltiska. We had to scale down the number of hunters from the usual 30 over three weeks to 10, from 14-22 of October. This was due to a combination of Blue Tongue infection and a hard winter which significantly reduced the deer numbers. Each of the vets from the Marine Corps, Navy, Army and Air Force took 10 deer, 3 turkeys and 12 prarie dogs. A good time of hunting and camaraderie was had by all.  Many thanks to the Koltiska family and the Wyoming National Guard for hosting this event.
Chartered Saltwater Fishing Trip, Corpus Christi, TX, Sept. 20-21, 2023
​In September WHO sponsored four Texas veterans on a salt water fishing trip in Corpus Christi, Texas. They spent the night of the 20th in Corpus and fished the next day with Captain Josh Wrenn of JW's guide service. Due to unusually high water temperatures, the fishing was rather difficult. But through excellent guiding and diligence on the part of the vets, they were able to boat some fish. In spite of the tough conditions they all had a good time. Many thanks to Captain Josh and our veterans for making this another successful WHO adventure. 
Guided Fishing Trip, Katmai Lodge, Alaska, Aug 5-13, 2023
​During the week of 5-12 August, WHO provided a world class Salmon and trout fishing adventure trip to five veterans and two of their family members. The trip was to the famous Katmai lodge on the Alagnak River, owned by Bob and Ida Kantor. The two Air Force, two Navy and one Marine vets along with a son and wife, enjoyed a week of guided silver salmon/ trout fishing, first class accommodations and excellent food provided by the Kantors and their excellent staff.  The fishing was complimented by extraordinary wild life viewing  in the majestic Alaskan wilderness.

Early Nov., 2021: Mule deer hunt in Montana
In early November, John and Betty Williams, along with their son Burl, hosted a mule deer hunt on their "Sweeting" Ranch outside of Lewistown, Montana.  W.H.O. Monitor Corey Clark, Kim Dumka (U.S. Army) and Jeremiah Parison (Firefighter), while enjoying the Williams' hospitality, harvested three nice mule deer. 
This is the second year the Williams' have hosted this hunt.  A big heartfelt Thank You for giving back to those who have served and sacrificed.

The 2021 hunt was from 7 Oct. to 30 Oct. this year. This was the fourth consecutive year, Jim and Rochelle Koltiska hosted the hunt on their ranch. This year a new landowner John and Robby Smith extended their hospitality to us as well. Many thanks to both the Koltiska and Smith families for their support. Additionally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Lt. Chris Vallejo,and the members of the Wyoming National Guard for their continued support. The trip was very successful both in terms of the animals harvested and the camaraderie shared by all. In total ten W.H.O. volunteers and staff provided a quality outdoor experience for thirty Vets, First Responders and family members. The group harvested 49 deer, 16 antelope, 2 turkeys and one prairie dog. Lastly, we'd like to thank Sgt. Major Bruce Parkman, Army Special Forces, Retired, for his bagpipe concert, which was enjoyed by all including the Koltiska cattle herd. 
 
Oct 7-30, 2021: Deer, antelope & turkey hunt in Sheridan WY
In late August and early September, Bob and Ida Kantor graciously hosted 3 W.H.O members at their Katmai Lodge on the Alagnak River in Alaska.  Bob Caulk (U.S.N.), Corey Clark (L.E.O) and Walker Taylor (W.H.O Supporter) got to spend a week at the Katmai Lodge.  They enjoyed first-class dining and accommodations while experiencing world-class salmon and trout fishing.  Additionally, a side trip to Brooks River Falls for bear watching was included.  All 3 are pilots and logged some stick time in the lodge's Turbine Otter.  In addition, Mike and Gina Bergt provided overnight accommodations at their Covid Manor Hangar at Lakehood in Anchorage.

A big thank you to Bob, Ida, Mike, Gina and the entire Katmai Lodge staff for making this world-class adventure possible.
